This weekend we had the opportunity to get out on the water on our boat for the first time this year and are now ready for a full spring and summer of boating in Portland! After sponging a few gallons of rain water out of the bilge, scrubbing the soot from the Sundance fire off of the deck, checking all of the safety gear, gassing up the engine and adding a few provisions, we headed out. The temperature was great and the river was busy with all types of boats from Spring Chinook hoglines to cruisers, sailboats, and even a couple of intrepid jet skiers. We've added a few items to our cruising arsenal and constantly try to squeeze what we need in our little boat cabin. Oh, for a bigger boat! We have gotten small boat cruising down to a science but are always looking at new ways to improve our voyages. A pop up sun shade was a winter addition and I can already tell it well come in handy on those hot summer afternoons.

We've added some new pictures to the website and some new pages, including a very informative page with local bridge information for the Portland area. Anyone that has waited longer than an hour for a bridge lift will find this information useful. Credits to Wikipedia and Portland Yacht Club's website for the information. We hope to have some new fishing news soon , after a guided charter this week with expert guide Brandon Glass of HookUp Guide Service. keep checking back!

Anyway, back to editing and getting ready for next weekend - temperatures in the 80's for the Portland area. See you on the water!
